Gold and GlassHe took a quiz: What is your heart really made of? I took it, too. This poem is the result.
Tested in fire -
Through and through.
Melted from sand -
Fragile and clear.
Through burning, you become refined
Melted dignity, love entwined
But flames have left me stained and cracked
A heart of darkness - a heart of black.
The incomparable beauty of gold on glass
But incomparable beauty never lasts.
Glass can be shattered and gold can be marred
Even hard hearts can be broken and scarred.
